    Location: Hybrid – Edmonton, AB
    Job Type: Part-time (20–25 hours per week)
    Pay: $20.00–$30.00 per hour

    Position Summary
    Reporting to the Executive Director, the Event Planning Coordinator will oversee the planning and execution of Rugby Alberta’s events (tournaments, team bookings, and events), ensuring smooth operations and strong stakeholder relationships.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and coordinate tournaments, team bookings, and activities.
    • Collaborate with staff to promote and execute events successfully.
    • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist in event logistics, including scheduling, communication, and coordination.
    • Support marketing and communication efforts for events.
    • Handle administrative tasks related to event planning.
    • Ensure all events align with Rugby Alberta’s mission and objectives.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Education & Experience: Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Rugby Knowledge: Background in playing, coaching, or officiating rugby is an asset.
    • Stakeholder Management: Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, event management tools, and scheduling software.
    • Event Planning Experience: Knowledge of sports event coordination and logistics.
    • Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative.
    • Professionalism: Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

    Work Environment & Expectations

    • Hybrid role based in Edmonton, AB (remote work in another major Alberta city may be considered).
    • Flexible hours, with peak workloads during event seasons.
    • Some travel may be required for events and meetings.
