About the Program
Rugby Alberta is thrilled to announce our exciting partnership with Rugby Canada and CSIA Sport Canada Funding to introduce Sessional Coaches to four areas of our province.
Thanks to the Sport for All Sessional Coaches program, Rugby Alberta will be gearing up to introduce rugby to schools in the Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Deep South (Lethbridge and surrounding communities), and Central (Red Deer and surrounding communities) areas of our province. We will be hiring four passionate coaches to build local rugby hubs, foster engagement, and deliver the joy of rugby directly to schools.
This program is designed to follow the World Rugby Try-Play-Stay model of rugby development where kids are encouraged to try the game of rugby, advance to more competitive play, and then become players for life and stay involved with their community rugby club. We can’t wait to see our sessional coaches in communities around the province delivering additional programming to youth!
